Link glared at Rusl/Gannon.... Rusl's image slowly turned into Gannon's. All of 'Rusl's Men' stopped fighting, and 'Gannons' stopped fighting as well. They all turned against Midna, who was still being held back, being made to watct he scene instead of be able to try and help Link. Link still had the sword threw his chest...blood dripping down his green heros clothes... So... he thought... this is the end...we lost. Gannon grinned from ear to ear. and chuckled, "You still dont understand this do you?" Link looked away from him, the pain threw his chest unbearable even to even speak to gannon. Gannon pulled the sword out from Link's chest, and Link remained sitting on his knees, his hands clasped to his bloody wound-chest. Midna tried desperatly to get to Link, but the creatures were too strong, making her loose her only sword. Gannon said, "Link...Hero, ha. You should of killed me, when you had the chance." Then, a huge image like a movie surrounded Hyrule Field, images moving....Link gasped at this slightly, as he watched it he knew what Gannon meant. Link was threatening 'Rusl', Link was trying to get information from him. Link did want to kill Rusl/Gannon then, why didn't he just kill him? Link had already lost his sanity. Link looked away from the surrounding holograms, "I...get..your point, Gannon..." Link said painfully. He spat up some blood, his wound was loosing more and more blood....his eye sight was starting to die....but he had to stay awake...just for a few more minutes... Gannon smiled, and the images dissapeared, "I loved how i made you thought i was Rusl....he was your 'friend' was he not? I understand that much." Then images surrounded again, showing He and Rusl way back before, talking by the Faron Spirit, just sitting and watching the pond. They were both talking. Then the image dissapeared. Link caughed slightly....he knew what Gannon was doing, braking Link more...making him feel so helpless...and hopeless... "Would you like to see?" Asked Gannon. Link looked up at Gannon. Link new wht he meant, Link quickly shook his head... "N..no..." he said painfully, tears coming from his eyes...but new images appeared..Ordon Village....being attacked. fires everywhere....kids, Milo, Talo, and Beth, running away from the attackers, but being cornered. Link looked away from the images, not wanting to see...he knew what was gonna happen and he did not want to watch. He heard Gannon chuckle. Link looked back up, and saw Rusl being attacked, surrounded, he had a sword, and was trying to kill all them off... Colin, his son, had a sword as well, not as sharp but. Colin tried to save his father, but was kicked down, and a creatures sword-Link closed his eyes.....he was silently sobbing....He heard what sounded like Rusl's wife screaming...and a baby cry....Link put his hands up to his ears trying to block off the eerie screams and noises.... Link could hear muffled sobs from Midna a few feet away. Link then suddenly, looked up at the images..Hyrule Castle..."Zelda..." Link whispered....what had happened to her? he didn't even know. He saw a dark shadow like sand flying out threw Hyrule Castle...up towards Zelda. Zelda had been aware because she was armed with a sword. "Gannon," Zelda said with a sneer, tightening her greep on the sword, "You still wont win." He heard Gannon laugh, he said back to her, "But I win this time...your little hero is dead." Zelda gasped, and Gannon's shadow blew right into her and Link looked away, hearing a loud scream. Link was shaking now....cold sweat falling from his forehead....his hands coated in blood. He looked back up at the images, then Gannon (The one thats in the present, not in the past) said to Link, "You wondered how 'you' died?" then the images went to Link seeing his own dead body. Then, Gannon snapped his fingers, and the image turned to..."Zelda..." Link whispered painfully, with a sob. There Zelda lay on the alter in the Mirror Chamber....a knife in her chest, her dress dirty, and torn at places, her hair ratty and filthy. Link cried out, "Please! you win! i give up!" and put his hands to his face...yes, he has lost....he lost the fight to Gannon....everything, was gone....Link, was weak...and he was dying...he could feel his life drifting.... "No..." cried Midna sobbfully, "Link...." she said....tears streaming down her face...but she new, Link couldn't do this....and she knew neither of them could do it alone. Link looked up at Midna, and forced a weak smile, "Thanks....for staying...with me...as long as...you did." he said painfully. Midna just looked down, trying her hardest not to sob. Gannon chuckled at this, "Finally, I have won!" thunder rolled across Hyrule field, as the armys cheered, and yelled out in joy, "Now! Hyrule is mine! this planet! is mine!" Gannon hit Link right across the face, making Link fall back smacking into the ground... Link's eyes started to get heavy...his throte was dry...his stomach empty....so much loss of blood.... Gannon looked at him, and said with a smile, "I must of missed something. Ah, yes." he looked towards Midna, "Bring her to me!" Midna was forced to Gannon and Link, and was shoved to the ground by Link, Midna took Link's bloody hand, "Link.."she whispere.d..but all Link did was look at her with heavy teary eyes....and his whole body shaking. Gannon said, "Now, just to make you suffer for one last time, Link," Gannon pulled out his sword, and raised it up high, Link noticed, he was going to kill Midna! With all the inergy Link had left, he gripped his MasterSword, and raised it, blocking the blow at the last second, Midna's eyes shut waiting for impact. Gannon blinked at Link. Link held it, Gannon was pushing, trying to brake threw Link's block. Link started to slowly stand up, Gannon blinekd at this, he should be dead by now! "You've had your fun, boy in green!" Gannon said, but Link's eyes...were filled with anger....Finally... Link thought..I have always wanted to die, fighting Gannon in anger... Midna tried to stand up, but her feet had been tied together, and her hands were tied behind her back. "Link," she said, "Not with anger!" Link ignored her....this was his time...and Gannons, this was all out. "Boy," Gannon said, "You wont die with glory! you will die with nothing! just a miner man, skilled with sword." Gannon sneered. Link pulled his sword back, and struck at him, he blocked easily, doing a twirl, swing his sword at Link ,Link blocked it, then Link said, "No..." he said with a smile, "I will die with nothing...but this...is worth dying for!" Gannon moaned loudly in frustration, swinging his sword, but being blocked, "Just die! that wound cant stay healed!" Link smirked at this, Gannon said, "You loose! why cant you just die!" Link blocked a blow that would of cut his head off. Link just smiled, "Gannon...your the weak one!" Gannon struck, stabbing Link threw the shoulder, but Link didn't flinch, or yell in pain, he just laughed, "Gannon Gannon...is that all you got?!!" And Link sturkc at Gannon, stabbing him threw the shoulder to, he yelled out in pain, and struck his sword at Link, Link finally snapped back into reality....and blocked his blwo just barely, but he fell down to his knees, dropping his sword, his breathing was slowing down, and now, he had no more streingh...what was he doing? thinking he could kill Gannon, all his weakness fell on him. He saw Midna stand up, she had managed to cut the ropes from her legs, and arms. She grabbed a creatures sword, and charged towards Gannon. Gannon just stared at her, and raise dhis hand at her, and she stopped running....and she fell to the ground....unable to move, but conchense.... Link's eyes started to close...Gannon chuckled, holing his wound, and he said, "Link...you finally, will die, now." Link's eye site went blurry, and he saw Midna say in a muffled voice, "Link...." her face with an expression that she was scared... Link looked up at Gannon....and saw him looming over him with his sword, he raised it.... Link closed his eyes.... "LINK!" Midna yelled....

move][shadow=red,left]~*CHAPTER FIFTEEN*~[/shadow][/move]
Darkness.... Thats all Link saw. Link, finally opened his eyes....his eyessight ujusting... He looked around him, and he put a hand on his wound, it was bandaged? Was he dead? his eyesight came back to him, and he saw where he was...in a bed. A fancy looking bed... He started to remember everything that had happened, He started to slwoly sit up, boy, his head hurt...but, he didn't feel thirsty... "Midna...?" he called out a bit quietly, his voice a little hors. He started to walk aroun the room, and when his councus finally realized where he was, he looked all around him, confuzed.... he was in Zelda's castle... "Hyrule Castle..." Link whispered. But it was....normal....not a single bored was ruined, the table he had totally shredded was...not in pieces. The stain glass windows were normal. not broke. Link got confuzed, and he heard a voice at the door, and he twirled, looking. "Zelda...?" he whispered, She smiled, she didn't look very clean, but her dress wasn't ruined, like she just baught a new one..or made it. Zelda said, "Link, i know you are very confused, and i can explain to you not everything, but a few things. Sit down." she said. Link sat down on a chair, holding his stomach, he felt like he was going to be sick...all these stuff are happening..again. why hadn't he died? "Link," Zelda said when she took a seat next to him, "You are still where you last were. The castle was re-constructed by Gannon." Link looked at her with confused eyes, "What? he said you were dead, he killed you. I came here, your castle was...demolished." Zelda nodded, "Yes, i know." she sighed, as if everything she could explain was nothing at all to him. "Zelda," Link said, "How are you still alive? your body...er...my body, was on the Mirror Chamber's alter...?" "No," Zelda said looking at him with hopful eyes, "That was not me, nor you. That was...just a Hyrulian, he used to make a different appearence. For me, and you." Link closed his eyes...what was happening? everything, was BACKWORDS! way backwords, and Link was starting to get very very sick of it. "Midna?!" Link said suddenly, standing up, and looked at Zelda. Zelda's eyes looked into his, such tired eyes Link had, and red, bloodshot... "Link," She said, "Midna....she is being held in." Link blinked, "What?" he asked her. "She....Gannon-" "Just dont say it!" Link said, "Dont say it! if your going to say Gannon has her, i wont believe you! And if your going to say, 'Gannon wont let me see her', then i gotta ask you something? Why are you taking orders from Gannon?!!" Link's face was red, from shouting and yelling, he was so angry, he wanted to cry, just beucase he had no sleep its been hard for him not to cry. Zelda blinked, surprised at this, she said softly, "Gannon wont do any more good for you, if you are around Midna." Link sat back down, his hands in his face, "Zelda..." he whispered, "How did this all go so bad...? why must i suffer this?" he heard Zelda sigh softly. "Link," she said, "I know its been really hard on you, to do this. Of course i'm not going to give you any orders, to go and stop Gannon's madness. This mission is up to you." "Mission?" he said looking up at her, "This is No Mission. This, is torture. and you know it," Zelda looked away, she knew he was right. "And Zelda," he said, "I am not going to last, and i am not going to do anything for this...i've tried, and if i try again, Midna, yes i know, i do worry for her, i wonder if she's dead. But thats better than salowly suffering." Link had tears flalling from his eyes, "Zelda, with all due respect, but i quit...being this 'hero!' I never asked to be the hero anyway." Zelda stood up, "You will always be the hero Link, you cant just say your not by not doing it, the people will reember you-" "WHAT PEOPLE?!" Link shouted, standing up, and kicking a chair. "Their all DEAD!!!" Zelda had samll tears coming down her face, "I know...Link. please, just try to help..." Link looked at her, "I dont knwo what you've been threw Zelda, but it must've been harsh, Gannon forcing you to ask me questions like this." Zelda's eyes turned away from his. "Theres an army..." she said, "And Gannon, is weaker...and this army, is our allies, this time. I know their not the enemy, because they are humans, and Gannon would not use humans as an army. Gannon doesn't know of this, and i know where to help you find Midna. and this war will be over." "This is no war." Link said softly, "This is just a game." Link sat back down, and said, "army...i am not going to lead the army if thats what your thinking?" Zelda shook her head, "You do not need to join the army, but only if you want to help." Zelda stood and walked over to him, and said looing into his eyes, "With your Sword, and bow, you can change the course of this war-i mean, Game." Link looked up at her, and glared at her for a minute. He knew, no trusting anyone. He knew, not to interact with him. But, he did know, that he was not going to trust Zelda. He wouldn't be surpirsed if he got attacked by Zelda in the battlefield. "I'm in." he said, looking away from Zelda, "But Zelda, I am going to kill Gannon, and you'll be free of him." Zelda gave him a weak smile, whiping away the tears falling down her face, "Thank you...Link." she said softly, and she turned, walking out of the room, shutting the door. Link felt something different inside him when she left... he closed his eyes, his head hurting all the sudden. he sighed softly, "Gannon..." he whisepred... "Stay away from my mind..." and he looked at the window. He stood and walked over to it, "You dont have me yet Gannon...wont you be surprised. or...you planned this...didn't you?" Link put his hands to his head....his eyes closed shut tight, pain shot threw his wound, and his head hurt so badly... he saw a flash in his mind, a scene.... Midna, in...some dark room, a dungeon? The one in hyrule castle! the dungeon! Then, he saw that she...looked beaten, sores fell down her face...her body looked cripple in the darkness. "Midna..." Link whispered, she looked up from her dungeon, "Link..." she whispered, and her eyes slwoly closed. Link came back to reality, "Gannon! stop it!" he knew, Gannon was using his mind...he was using that scene as bait! why would he use that as bait? Link opened his eyes, and fell to the floor, and passed out. Zelda secretly watched in the doorway... a smile fell upon her face.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link’s eyes open, and he was in the bed again, Zelda sitting down by his side, “You past out.” Zelda said. Link sat up painfully, and looked around him, then he remembered where he was. Zelda stood up, “Take it easy, okay?” she said giving him a smile, and leaving closing the door behind her. Link stood up, and saw a new wardrobe that Zelda had put out for him, it looked royal, but it was something that Link didn’t mind ruining. Link took his shirt off, and stood in front of a mirror. He studied his arms, and his sides. Scars, but no blood, or scabs. “Huh…weird, they shouldn’t be healed yet.” Link mumbled. He stretched, his muscles flexing, then, he put on a nice looking top, that had a v-neck, and a short t-shirt. Then, Link put on his new pants, he stood, looking at himself in the mirror…then, he realized…something…looked different…. He walked closer to the mirror, looking at his face….He looked at his eyes….red…bloodshot? very much. “weird…” he whispered…. and he looked as if he’d aged some…but that was impossible…. Link looked at the door, as if seeing Zelda there… “You are hiding something…” he whispered, “and I’m gonna get it out of you.” Link walked out of the room, and snuck towards the staircase, what if Midna was at the dungeon? No, Link thought, cant go into the dungeon, I cant know for sure if she’s there…or even if she’s alive… Link sighed softly, looking up at Zelda’s family portrait on the wall…for some reason, in Link’s mind, Zelda’s place in the picture seemed to be taken, to Midna. Midna stood smiling in the picture…Link looked away. “Whats happening now? What should I do? Am I doing the right thing?” he asked himself in a whisper. He missed Midna…he hoped she was OK. He hated being this, ‘Hero’. Why couldn’t he just be rased simply? Without all the bloodshed, and the battles…and Gannon… Link, was just going to pretend that everything was ok, that Zelda new what she was doing… but, he’d keep his own secrets to himself. He turned to walk down the staircase, and saw Zelda standing there, she smiled, “Where are you going?” she asked. Link smirked silently, and thought, ‘heh! She doesn’t want me leaving..the hero that could stop it all.’ Link just said, “I was going to….um…go for a walk around the Castle.” Maybe even possibly to the dungeon…. Zelda smiled, “You sure you want to wonder around the castle? I mean…” she hesitated, and said, “Never mind, go ahead.” And she walked off. Link watched her leave the room. Then he looked back infront of him, and walked down the long staircase, it was…well built, not like what Link saw, he had to solve this mystery… he knew the basics, Gannon did this, he knew that much, who else would do it? And….it was still the dark ages…then a question popped in his mind… When he thought he died, he could’ve sworn Gannon was going to strike him, hadn’t he? And why didn’t he just kill me when he knew it would’ve been victorious? For him. Link smirked, he walked around a corner, and saw a group of humans, men soldiers gathering together, and sharpening swords, they looked filthy, and their clothes torn. Link looked down at his brand new wardrobe, feeling guilty, why hadn’t these people been givin a new wardrobe? One man looked up at Link, and gasped, “It’s him! The sorcerer!” everyone turned to Link, and gasped. There was a long pause… Link just stood there, mortified and surprised, they were bowing. Link rolled his eyes, and walked over towards them, and they squirmed, and he said, “Stand up, who’s this sorcerer?” Link asked. The humans looked up at him, confused, then, a human in the back yelled, “Some sorcerer! How can you bow down to a stranger such as he?!” Link looked over at the human who said it, and blinked, what was this all about? He walked over to the soldier….who wore a hood up, and had his arms crossed. “Whats this Sorcerer thing, tell me. You seem to know.” Link said. The man grunted, and said, “They believe that the “Sorcerer of Time” is going to come and save their souls from Gannon’s evil anguish, of course I don’t believe in such dung.” Said the man. Link noticed that he was looking at his Master Sword. Link put a hand on it, and the man said, “So… Hero, have you really come to save us? Or them for that matter?” Link could see a wide grin on his face, but he couldn’t really see his face sense his hood was up. The humans squirmed more, Link glared at the man, and he pulled out his sword, and put it to the mans kneck, who fell back, against a wall. The humans all gasped. Link tore the hood off of the man…-Wait…. He looked him hard in the face….long hair fell down, long red hair, and eyes…so green. Link blinked, as if it was a dream, this wasn’t a man, but a woman. Link stuttered…not sure what to say. The girl looked a bit horrified that he now knew she was a woman, and all the restof the men looked at her, and said, “Deceiver! No women are aloud in the castle grounds!” they all started running at her, but Link blocked them, “No,” he said, “Leave her be.” The men all looked at him, and nodded, as if saying, ‘Yes Master’. The girl glared up at Link, Link didn’t know her, never saw her before, “Who are you?” Link asked. She smirked, “You think your all mombo jumbo with those fancy clothing? And that the princess aides you? Your wrong.” She said. Link rolled his eyes, “I don’t have time for this, I don’t even know what going on!” she blinked, “And I…am very confused.” He finished, looking away a bit embarrassed. She chuckled, “But, you are the Hero of Time, right? You shouldn’t be confused.” Link looked at her, and she whispered, “You should be mortified.” Link looked her hard in the face, she was about in her youth. He said, “Whats that soposed to mean?” she smiled, and said, “It means, that you still have no idea what kind of evil power Gannon’s possessed. He’s stronger sense, he ‘killed’ you. Which, doesn’t make any sense.” She looked away, and stood up, and Link noticed that she had a sword of her own. Link finally said, “So, what do you want?” She stood there, and smiled, her white teeth gleaming, she said softly, “Help, Link. We all need your help. Oh Link…if only you understand my words.” Link blinked, what was that soposed to mean? This girl was strange. “Link,” she said softly, “He is stronger, more powerful, but Link, I don’t think this whole ‘Gannon getting more powerful everyday thing’ if sounding bad anymore.” She paused and said, “It sounds as if, something…something maybe…” “WHY DID YOU STOP WORKING?!” yelled a man that wore a bunch of armor, “Get to work!” all the men started to work. Link looked at the girl, and said, “Don’t worry about it right now,” she put her hood back up, and left Link ,pretending to be a man in the crowd of the workers. Link nodded at the huge armored man, and he gave a grunt, and walked off. Link looked at the girl, she looked back, then away. Link walked towards the exit of the castle, he finally had some answers, or, he was going to get some anyway…. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [/color]
Link sat down outside of the castle, on a stony ill, gazing up at the sunset that souhletted Hyrule fields profile. Link sighed softly…everything that was happening this day, was making him less strong…he could just feel it. Why didn’t he just drop over dead? that’s what he kept wondering…. Link thought of that one girl that was, or had been working down in the mens place, working on swords and such. How long had it been? Then, he heard Zelda stand by next to him where he was sitting. He didn’t look up at her. Zelda sat down next to him, “Link,” she said, “The army said that you were down by their quarters, what were you doing down there may I ask?” Link didn’t look at her, “Does anything, seem to matter to you anymore?” he asked her. Zelda blinked, “What do you mean?” Link sighed again, looking at her, “I was down there, just…looking,” he knew Zelda was not buying it. Link looked away, unable to look into her eyes anylonger…he just wanted to die. He just wanted this to end. “How long as it been sense me and Midna last departed?” Link asked Zelda. Zelda sighed softly, and said, “Link…its been a long time.” Link looked at her, “What?!” he said “What do you mean?” Zelda looked away, “Link..i wasn’t sure who to trust..i knowi should trust you…” “You better tell me Zelda, tell me now, what year is it?!” Link said anger overtaking him once more. Zelda whinced, and said, “Its…been years. So many years Link. That’s why I do not know of Midna, Gannon took her from me-“ Link’s face looked as if he was…well, he looked confused, and surprises at her… “Why did you lie?! You gotta tell me things, Zelda!” Zelda still looked away, “Gannon…I do not know of his location…but, I know where he is, Midna is. And I know where.” Link grabbed her arm, and said, “Where? If you wantthis war or game to stop, then tell me Zelda.” Zelda hesitated, and said softly, “Link…. Midna…. Oh Link,” when Zelda stood up and started to walk away, Link grabbed her and pulled her to him, and stared her right in the face, “What?” he said in a forced soft tone, “What?” Zelda had tears in her eyes, “If I tell you, he will betray…oh, oh no.” Link let her go, she said, “Link, you must find this out for yourself…i…I cannot stay.” Zelda started to run off. Link started after her, “Whats wrong?!” he yelled, but Zelda continued to run, “Link,” she yelled, “You must save us! You must!” then, Zelda…fell into ashes. Link jumped back with a loud yelp, and fell down. He layed there, and closed his eyes… “What…just…no…shes…shes fine… she got away… fast.” He didn’t want to open his eyes, but he did…. He slowly stood up, keeping his eyes looking away from the ashes…then, they slowly turned to them and they blew away…. “Zelda…” he whispered. what had she meant??? You must save us? Us? Link saw the sunset go down right as he sat down by the spot where Zelda had fell to ashes. Link rubbed his eyes…they were hurting…then, the wind started to blow…he could hear…a faint voice… “Link…” it whispered, his hair being whipped back, he looked around wildly…. It sounded like…Queen Rutela…. “Link,” said the wind, “evil is overcoming you…” Link grabbed his head, and he closed his eyes tight, he yelled out in pain, “What do you mean?!!” “Link,” said the whispers, “This world….” And whoosh! Link’s vision turned to the future…. He looked around him, Hyrule….it was, dark….bloody dark… He heard soldiers out in the fields cheering about something…a bloody war had just ended. He stood up ontop of a hill, so he saw a lot of the surroundings…same as it was in the present, old, musty, and nothing at all. Then, Link felt a shear bit of Pain run threw his head, and chest…. He fell down to the ground, holding his chest, and he started to squirm in the dirt from the pain…. He let out yells of pain… The voice in the wind said, “You know…this world….the one you live on…will not be over ruled by the evil such as Gannon…” Link’s vision was started to…blur…rapidly…he could hear his heart beating faster…and faster…. “You understand? You are….you are the evil, Link. You will kill this world!” Link screamed out and he opened his eyes, and saw…himself. He stood over himself…grinning….red glowing eyes…..scars all on his face…..and he wore red dark robes, and…his master sword…was black, with no light. Link said painfully… “N…no…” his older self laughed, “Yes, Link.” He said, “Its me…..or…you.” Link closed his eyes quickly, pain shot right threw his chest, and he screamed in pain once more…. The pain was getting more and more agonisiing…. He saw his older self disappear, and the images shriveled, and everything went normal…. In his mind, he saw flash’s of those red eyes…. His own…. He lay on the the ground, sobbing…holding his arms around his chest…. He could see the soldiers gathering around him, but he was in so much pain, and he couldn’t stop sobbing…. “What is wrong with him?” one said, the other getting a closer look. “Who knows…” Then, Link’s sobbing started to slow down….but he was kind of out of it….everynow and then, he saw his old self…red glowing eyes just watching…. How could this be happening? He would never go to the evil side…..because that’s what he’s been keeping from killing hyrule…now he was going to kill hyrule. And he knew he wouldn’t be able to control it. Then, he heard a familiar voice in the crowd of humans surrounding him. “Back off,” it was that one girl’s voice…the one he had just met. “Give him room, Knane, help him.” She said. Link could feel arms grab him, and lift him up. Link’s body was limp…but Link new what was going on… Link had stopped sobbing, tears were still coming down his face, he heard the girl whisper to…who he soposed was, ‘Knane’ say: “Don’t let the others follow…” Then he heard shouts….orders not to follow…
“Link?” he heard the girl whisper a few minutes later after he was laid down on a soft mattress. “Link, are you allright?” Link sturred… he was sweating a cold sweat… “M..Midna…?” he said softly…. “Your…alive…” He heard a sigh, and the girl said, “I am not Midna, I’m… that girl. Remember?” she asked. Link’s eyes fully opened now, he realized his hand was clasped over his mastersword as if holding for dear life for it. His eyesight ujusted to the apperances. The girl’s face started to form….then, that’s when he remember… Red curles…green eyes…. “You ok? You looked like you had just had shock, you might even still be in shock.” She said. Link tried to chuckle, but it came out painfully, he said, “Wouldn’t surpise me….” And he closed his eyes, “Where are we?” he asked. “Well,” she said standing up, “It’s a secret underground lair, that me and my friend Knane found.” She said. “Kn…Knane?” he asked opening his eyes once more. “An old friend of mine, I can trust him with anything.” She heard Link give a slight smirk. “At least you trust somebody…” he said. The girl looked right into his red tired eyes…and said, “I cant imagine of what you’ve been threw, warrior, but I’ll never understand.” Link’s eyes looked away from hers….he remembered everything that happened before… Midna….how she kissed him…. And of how she would always give him hope…. Man, he hoped she was alive… Then, he looked back at the girl, “Whats your name?” he asked her, not going to be surprised if she lied, and later betrays him. She smiled, and said, “My name is Yorlan, daughter of Simone.” She gave a wink, and said, “Link, I’m happy we met…” Link noticed that she seemed to be in a daze…. Just looking at him. “You ok?” he asked, raising an eye brow. She snapped out of it, and said, “Oh, yes, I’m fine.” Link then remember what happened to Zelda…and what she had had said… “Yorlan,” he said, she looked at her, “Zelda-“ “Yes,” she said, “I know, I saw.” Link nodded, and said, “She said to me, right before hand, she said, ‘Link, you must save us, you must save us all’, what do you soposed that means? I know I’m the hero and soposed to save everyone-’’ “Yes,” she said, “I know of it…but,” she hesitated. “What can people not tell me? Obviously all of you are keeping secrets.” Said Link trying to sit up in the bed, that’s when he noticed, he had no shirt on, he had no wounds. He looked around him as well… just a dark dungeons with torches lit. She said, “Its just..its complicated Link.” Link then saw something… like a twinkle in her eyes… as if he was the hope. “Link,” she said, looking deep into his eyes, “Its been a long time sense you’ve been here…. It has been said, that you were taken here to Hyrule, the last you and Gannon encountered. It has also been said…” she hesitated, and then she said looking into his eyes, “Gannon, he is dead.” Link blinked, “What?!” he said sitting up more, and hurting himself a bit. “Yes,” Yorlan said, “he was killed as soon as he was meant to kill you, Link.” Link remembered….he was about to die…he new that much, Gannon was about to strike him, but Link saw no more. “Midna..” he said looking at her, “if you know this much, then you must know where she is!” Yorlan took his arm, “Link,” she said, “I know nothing….of…her.” Link looked hard into her eyes, and he knew she was lying to him. Link pulled away, “I can’t believe you, but I’ll trust you.” He said. Yorlan looked down, and scooted away, and said, “Link,” she said, “I wish…if only you could understand this-’’ “No!” Link said, “I am the one who is going to kill Hyrule! I will be the next enemy!” Yorlan blinked. Link glared…then, he relaxed, and he leaned back in his bed, he felt like he just used the last of his energy. “Evil…” she whispered, “Is going to overtake you, Link, if you don’t control it, it will control you.” Yorlan stood up, and as soon as she did, Knane walked in cloked. “Well?” said Yorlan in a whisper. Link listened harder, Knane said, “They know we are not here, I told them that you had to get more supplies.” “Supplies for what?” asked Link in a higher voice. “Quiet, you don’t want them to hear you,” said Knane. Yorlan said, “We are going to battle. But we have to get supplies. You going to come with us? We might be able to try to find your love.” Link blinked. “Love?” he asked. Yorlan winked, and walked out with Knane.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link was told as soon as he woke up the next morning, to be ready to go. He was going to travel with the soldiers to their destination to war. And Link, didn’t know what to do, as he walked alongside the soldiers, in the hot sun that boiled high above them. Link wasn’t going to trust the men, or Yorlan. He sighed softly, putting his hand to his chest, “You ok?” Link jumped slightly, not expecting the voice of Yorlan coming up behind him. “Yes,” he said catching his breath, “I’m fine…” Yorlan gave a look like, ‘Yeah right.’ “You know,” she said, looking him up and down as they walked, “You really scared the men yesterday. They may not look like it, but… they are scared. And they don’t want their last hope to die.” Link looked at her, and she looked…scared herself…but she removed eye contact. “Scared?” he asked, “Why?” “I already told you, they know you’re their last hope to life… to bringing the light back into the world, and destroying the darkness.” Yorlan said looking back into his eyes. Link looked away….yes…he remembered what happened yesterday…. And he knew that he was not the dark world’s last hope… “Yorlan, I am not going to save Hyrule from this darkness…. Its…you already know!” said Link a little angrily, “You cant expect everything from me…” he said looking away. Yorlan said grabbing his arm gently, “Link…I know, you are to become the new evil… well… involuntarily…but Link, you can still help us. You can stop it, you have a choice!” Yorlan made Link stop walking, and made him look into her eyes… “Link..” she whispered… “you…you are the thing, to help Hyrule….Zelda would want you to take her place.” Link nudged her arm from grabbing him, “No,” Link said, “I’m going to take Gannon’s place…. Or, whatever evil that’s befalled this earth.” Link shook his head, “Theres only one way to be rid of this evil…” Link saw fear in Yorlan’s eyes… “I…” Link said, “Already know, how to end it.” Yorlan saw Link grip his sword, and she looked up at him, knowing what he meant, “No,” she said, “You must’nt, and you wont.” Link glared at her, and turned walking away from her… Knane walked past her, and as he did, he said to her in a low voice, “He’ll be fine…” and walked towards a man helping him with acquipment. Yorlan just stood there… the her long red hair blowing back in the wind as the sun started to set, and the men slowly walking part her…she gazed off over at where Link was walking with the soldiers…. “A’hnt e’l’sh en…” she whispered in a different toung. tears fell down her face as she started to walk again.
When the soldiers made camp, Link noticed that Yorlan kept a close eye on him from a distance. Link looked away everytime, unsure…should he trust her? Link already knew his intentions… and as he thought of this, he kept a hand on his sword… “It’s the only way, Midna…” Link whispered. Link sat on a small hill, gazing up at the dark sky, at all of the glowing stars. His green eyes remained on the stars…. He hasn’t been at peace this much sense he rode Epona for the last time on the grassy plaigns of Hyrule…. Then, it all went wrong…with a single, Arrow. Link sighed…and closed his eyes… “Hey,” Link sighed… Yorlan sat down beside him, “Sorry if I bother you.” She said. “You don’t.” said Link putting a hand to his forehead. Then he looked at her, and said, “Why do you care so much? About me…I mean, all of you think I can do this, I cant.” Yorlan looked away, and he looked at her still, wondering… there was something about her…something that made Link wonder… “Because….well…” she sighed, not really knowing of what to say… then she said ina small soft voice, “We’re just…trying to hold onto some small bit of hope, Link…” she said. He looked into her sad eyes, as she said, “We’ve been threw…so much sense you’ve disappeared, Link…. No one knew, that Zelda kept you in her possession…no one even trusted her Link. Now you’re the only one they trust. I….trust you more, Link.” Link saw something in her eyes… that…. In his mind, the picture of her…almost…turned to something else… no… Link thought. Yorlan took his arm once more, and sqeezed it some, “Link… I….” she hesitated…. Looking away from him, and she let him go, and she stood up fast, and started to walk off. Link stood and said, “Yorlan,” she stopped and turned to him. Link just stared at her…like… like she was different…he gave a smile, and said, “well… I am still going to help stop this… just…no gauruntees…” Yorlan smiled back, and she gave a small wink, turning and walking back to camp. Link just stood there… looking at the ground… he turned and started to walk to his own tent, were he laid down and rested for the night. He had some trouble sleeping…thinking of everything…. The war still to come… his evil form ready to burste soon….. what he should do if it happened… Yorlan…there was something about her… it made Link not able to stop thinking of her…. But, then Midna…. I hope your allright, Midna… Link thought…. He gazed into the darkness for a few more minutes…then, he closed his eyes. He had never had such great sleep….
Link slept that night soundlessly… his dreams had become worse, but he slept really well. His dreams were making him twitch some as he slept… he kept seeing himself… himself on the battle field, fighting the enemy…. But, his army was winning…actually winning! But what was disturbing that he kept seeing was… flashes, like everynow and then, thered be a HUGE FLASH, and he got a quick glimpse of a man with glowing red eyes, and a dark hood that covered his head, and a grin on his face. Link was sweating some as he slept, then, heard a voice… Yorlan. Link woke up with a start, looking at the tent’s entrance he saw Yorlan standing there, “Time to wake up, Link.” She said, she forced a smile, as Link tried sitting up, “Take it easy today,” she said. He looked up at her as she said, “We need you.” Link tried to smile, but his body was sore, and he was still trying to wake himself. Yorlan walked away from his tent entrance. Link got up and stretched. He took his shirt off, and put ona new pair that, he guessed, Yorlan had put down on the chair for him. Battle cothes. First, he noticed… “The green clothes…” he smiled as he held on to the green clothes tightly. They looked bran new. First he put on chainmail, and then he put on his green tunic. But there was something added to the design of the front of his tunic… A dragon madalian was stamped to his chest of the tunic, he smiled. He had no clue what the signature meant, but he would soon find out. Perhaps Yorlan would know. Link put on his brown boots. He walked out of the tent, and out into the grassy pleigns that the soldiers were on. Then Link noticed something… He put a hand on his sheath. No sword! He ran back into his tent, but found nothing, he ran back out, looking for Yorlan, then he found her. He ran to her, “Yorlan!” he said when he got to her. She looked at him with a curious face, “Wheres my sword?!” “Oh…” she said with a smile, “Knane!” she yelled. Link saw a head pop out from inside a tent, “Fetch the hero his sword!” Knane nodded at her response and ducked back inside the tent. Yorlan looked back at Link, “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you, just thought I’d tidey your sword up some.” Link gave a weak smile, and sighed heavily, wow…that scared him bad, he thought he had lost it. Yorlan put a hand to his chin, and made him look at her. He did, and she smiled, and said, “Link, you must stop worring. Everything will be fine.” Link just then saw something In her eyes again….Link couldn’t help but smile. She was so kind to him, she understood him so well….he was about to say something to her, when Knane walked over with Link’s sword gently in his hands. Link looked at it, and he smiled more, “Wow…” he whispered. His mastersword had been re-plemished… shinier… no scratches… no dents, nothing. Link could still sense the light glow of the Twilight in the sword…. Link gently took it in his hands… “Thanks…” he whispered, and gave the sword a twirl. Knane nodded and walked off, not really caring. Yorlan said, “Yes, I knew you would appreciate it, I hope you don’t mind, but last night I had to go inside your tent to re-treve it, it took all night to finish that sword.” Yorlan said. Link looked at her… and he wondered… she went in his room last night…. He felt strange knowing that she had been, and he was not aware of it. He just forced a smile, “I do appreciate you doing this for me…I really do.” Yorlan blushed a little, trying to hide it. Link sheathed his MasterSword, and looked around, “So, what of we now?” he asked. Yorlan said, “We are making more weapons, an army is under way, and we have to be ready for their arrival. So, we decided to make new-And more- weapons for our men.” Link looked around him at all of the hard working men, then he looked at her, “Do they know of you being female?” he asked in a low voice. Yorlan nodded, “Yes, otherwise I would be less…well, feminine looking.” Link did notice now, not that he never new, but she looked…pretty, defenantly not a male, so, she was right. All the men new she being female was a bad thing in fighting in this battle, but what of they to loose? They need as many men (or women) as they can get to win this battle. “Besides, who can they tatill tale on, to someone who’ll lisson?” she winked. Link nodded, “makes sense.” Then, he gaze dout over the grassy fields….well, sorta grassy, fresh green grass started to grow in the dry fields of Hyrule. Yorlan just looked at Link… Link didn’t notice… his gaze too fixed on the fields. Yorlan looked away, and said, “You ready for battle?” Link looked at her, “I oculd use a bow…” “Ah, yes! You reminded me.” Yorlan said. “Follow me.”
Yorlan had taken him inside another big tent, that had some workers in it making swords. Yorlan talked to one of the men, and they walked away for a few moments, then came back to her and Link. He handed Link his heros bow. Link took it, not really surpised that they had it, “Wow..” he said, streaking the blade of the bow… “so smooth…” Link said. “yes, very, but here.” And Yorlan grabbed something that was covered by a rag. She pulled it off, and Link gasped, it was his shield…the Hyrule shield….well, a little different, it had a dragon on the front of it. “Wow.” Link said again, taking the shield… “Very…” Yorlan said. “What does this mean?” Link asked pointing at the dragon on the shield. “Oh,” said Yorlan, “That’s our signature, our army. Its means, “The Dragons of the Night” or, “the Slayers For The Day”.” Link nodded… “Slayers of the Day…” he whispered… Like Light. The Light in Hyrule was gone. Just Darkness, well, there was a little bit of Light in the land of Hyrule…this army was the last Light. They couldn’t be blown out. Link then finally realized, looking out at all of the dedicated men who were willing to fight to save Hyrule, were willing to die to save Hyrule….. They were going to die to save this Land…and Link new, that he, himself… wouldn’t be saving Hyrule as he faught… he’d be killing the Light… if his past encounter at the castle, when he got that vision… if it was true, then why shouldn’t he just kill himself? He was sure that Yorlan had to be wondering that… instead, she’s so fixed on him fighting…to help. Try to help…. Link sighed as he held his shield… “Link?” said Yorlan. Link jumped some from hearing her voice… “Uh…yeah?” “You ok?” she asked, surprised from his yelp. “Yes…” he said. She looked into his eyes one more time then walked out of the tent… Link sat down on a wooden box…. Put his shield around his back, and his bow hung from his back as well, his arrows in a case to be held in. Link sighed…he leaned his head up against the wall…

They were all called out to the battle field. On a hill they stood, all the men dressed in amour, and swords drawn. Link stood in the front line. He glanced over at Yorlan, who stood in her armor, a thin, long sword gripped in her hands. She saw him looking at her. She gave a smile, and mouthed, “Good luck.” Link nodded, giving a smile and looking away. He unsheathed his sword… Knane walked over in his long armor, he stopped in front of Link, and said, “You are leading.” Link blinked… he wasn’t told before that he was leading… “Alright.” He said. Knane stuck out his hand, “Good luck, warrior.” Knane said, Link shook his hand, unsure of what to think of this. Knane walked away, going to a different part of the battle field. “When you’re ready…” Yorlan said to Link. Link looked ahead of them, huge mounds of men were charging from a ways off… Link sighed, and closed his eyes… you can do this… he thought to himself. He opened his eyes again…. He gripped his sword tightly… so. This was it… Link new that he had to do the right thing… he just pictured himself on the battlefield… fighting, and seeing the evil… himself… he knew, he had to kill himself….if he did kill himself. Nothing bad would happen to Hyrule…everything would be peaceful… What Link had not known the whole time, was that: He was the evil, he was the one causing Darkness… death… wars… This was the Last war. And Link…was going to lead them to victory. No Gannon. No Evil puppets… No princess’. Just them. This army… Link looked around him, at all of the men.. all so brave, yes, Link could see fear in their eyes… but Link new, by looking at the men, they were proud, proud of fighting against this evil. If only they knew that I was the evil causing this darkness… Link thought, [/i] Then they would kill me themselves…wouldn’t mind. [/i] His mind…went to Midna…. Link sighed softly again... his green eyes feeling more moist…this was all going to end, and he hadn’t even known where Midna was… Link felt his sword slightly; it seemed to twitch in a way… Link looked at it, and he could see, Light glowing from his Master Sword. Link smiled, “So…the light hasn’t left you yet, completely?” he said to his sword softly. Its glow…dimmed. And there was no more. Link looked back up at the army approaching from the distance. He looked at Yorlan, she nodded. Yorlan would be giving the first command. “Be ready for their attack!” She yelled over the murmurs of the men. “Remember!” she yelled, “You are fighting for your kingdom! For Hyrule!” Yelled Yorlan to the men, Link caught her eye as she continued to shout, “You will not BACK down, you are meant to help fight for this kingdom! Don’t only take revenge on your children and wives, but for your desires! For your Kingdom! For your princess, Zelda!” The men nodded their heads… some were staring off into the distance as she yelled. Link noticed that Yorlan had tears falling down her face when she looked over at him. “Do this…” Yorlan said loudly… “For your People!” a few men raised their swords, “And for your VICTORY!” And the men all shouted out proudly. Link raised his sword with the rest of the men, and it seemed to be the brightest of them all, light streaks hitting the dark sky above them, as the men shouted with triumph, over the announcing of Yorlan. Link had a tear falling down his cheek… This was it. Yorlan looked over at Link… That’s when Link saw something familiar… A few minutes later… when the men had calmed down, they stood in the lines, the evil army closer now. “Link,” said Yorlan, “You announce the charge.” Link nodded, and smiled, “be careful out there. Ok?” he said. Yorlan smiled, “No guarantees, Hero of time…” she winked and walked to a different part of the army. Link continued to smile as he watched her walk away. Then, he looked back at the fields. He raised his sword, “For Victory! WE FIGHT!” he yelled. The men all shouted proudly. Link stepped forward, standing in front of his entire army… He raised his sword once more, and yelled, “WITHOUT MERCY!” and all the men yelled, “Yeah!” loudly. “ATTACK!” Link yelled. Link and all the men started running. Link of course running ahead of them sense he was in front…. He gripped his sword with both hands as he ran… it was like slow motion… He saw Yorlan running foreword as well, he caught her eye again… she smiled. Link looked ahead… Orcs, and bulls, and boars, and other creatures ahead got closer…closer…closer! He swung his sword! SLICE! He cut a boars head off, blood spattering everywhere. He twirled, blocking a blow from a huge orc with an axe. He saw an orc running for a man from behind. Link ran towards the orc, and stabbed him threw the chest before he could get to the pr-occupied man. Link was shoved aside by a big fat boar that cut his side. Link scrambled on the ground, he tried getting up, when a huge rush of people started running over him and trampling him. Link felt a stinging pain going up his side. Blood. A boomerang was thrown, and it cleared a path for Link to stand up. Link painfully stood, and saw the boomerang get caught by Yorlan, she smiled, “Careful.” She said turning and pulling out her sword. Link nodded and turned running towards a group of his men that needed help. Link jumped clear over the heads of orcs, and landed in the middle of the group. Link stabbed his sword threw an orcs head. Then he turned blocking a blow, and cutting an orcs arm off. Blood covered Link’s face as he was being blocked off by more orcs. He got on the ground, twirling and tripping all the orcs from around him. Link stood running walking on them to get the orc that was pursuing him. Link and that orc sword faught for about 10 minutes…. Unable to get him down! Link finally managed to ribs the creatures’ eye balls out. That did it and the creature fell roaring to the ground. Link already used up half his energy on that…thing. Link wiped his brow, blotches of blood all over him. Yorlan staggered over to Link, she was filthy, “Link, you all right?” she asked him, looking him up and down. Link nodded painfully, “I’m fine. Look out!” Yorlan Twirled, blocking a huge orc’s blow. Link ran over to her, and shoved his sword up the orc’s chest. It let out a loud shriek and fell to the ground. “You all right?” Link asked her. She nodded, “yeah…thanks.” Link said, “No problem.” Yorlan smiled slightly, “Tough war, huh?” she asked. “Yeah.” Link said, he turned, and charged on an orc. Yorlan right beside him charging her own orc. The battle felt like it just kept going… and going… Link wasn’t even sure what they might stumble on as minutes kept going, orcs, and men dying in the midst of the bloody fields. Link had blood all over his face, a few flesh wounds on his sides and back. But he continued to fight strong; his sword gripped in his hands, as he plunged his sword threw a roaring boar. Link had lost sight of Yorlan; the enemy was growing stronger in numbers, but his army still strong enough to hold. He remembered of what Yorlan had said, ‘“That’s our signature, our army. Its means, “The Dragons of the Night” or, “the Slayers for the Day”.”’ Link put a bloody hand on his chest, the scaly armor that draped down, his hand resting on a golden Dragon, with light bursting from it. We can do this… Link thought as he gripped the symbol. He turned and ran threw the fields, he swiped his sword at an Orc. An arrow flew threw the air, shooting right towards him. Link dived and the arrow whizzed past. Chaos was everywhere. And this battle was turning into a War. Well, it was a war when it started…but Link could barely move threw the crows of fighting men and creatures. The fight went on…and on… A day went by. Many men still faught. Link was growing weak, but he wouldn’t give up, he couldn’t tell if it was sunrise, in this land of darkness there was no light. Link looked over and saw a glimpse of Yorlan, who was fighting more weakly than yesterday. Link would go to her, but he was blocked by a crowd of orcs, with axes and swords. Link pulled in front of him his shield, an orc’s sword clashed his shield, Link felt a jolt, and the Orc flew back screaming, and rammed into a mountain wall. A few of the orcs looked puzzled. Link looked at his shield, and the other orcs around him ran away. Link smiled, looking up he saw Yorlan smiling. She turned away and began to fight once more. Link looked at his shield… Had she…? Nah, she’s human. She can’t do magic. He turned and helped a member of the army. It wasn’t long before Link noticed that his shield hadn’t a scratch. Link also started to worry, what if this was dark magic? Someone had put dark magic in his weapons? Link tried not to think about it, as he fought a big fat orc. Hours went by… Link was weaker now… he saw a few creatures falling back, running…away? No. Just backing away, like, a brake? Link fell to his knees…. And put his sword into the ground for support. He let out a huge sigh…. “You did great,” Link looked up, and saw Yorlan standing in front of him. “You’re very strong still, Link….”she whispered faintly. Link looked away, and nodded his head as he looked to the ground. He closed his eyes, and felt Yorlans arm go around his shoulder, “It’s not over quite yet, Link.” She whispered. Link thought… I’m happy I’m giving my life up for a good cause… that is… if I die in war, my life was worth something… to me… Link stood up, slowly. Yorlan helped him some, and said, “Looks like their re-cruting, but that doesn’t mean they are resting. So, he files up our men, sharpen our weapons, get a little bit of rest, and get ready.” Link looked at Yorlan. So much hope in those green eyes. But, she sounded tired herself, infact, her red curls were all ratted and wet with blood and filth. And her face had patchy blood on it. Link couldn’t keep his gaze off hers… Whenever he looked at her, he felt… safe, at home…. Like... he knew her. Then, he remembered. “What did you do?” he asked softly, pulling up his shield, “What was that about?” he asked. Yorlan looked at him… she didn’t even look at the shield. “Link,” she whispered, “Its destiny…” and she smiled, turned and walked away. Link just stood there… he watched her walk away. And this time, he wasn’t going to demand for answers. After getting his wardrobe patched, and his wounds mended, he had fallen asleep… He started to dream… his mind flowing into darkness… There he stood…. His plan of overthrowing Hyrule and being the new ruler, was working…. Zelda was finally, gone. And he was to concur the land. But he new, that first, he had to get rid of One thing… one being. The ghostly figure stood atop of a hill, gazing out over the dead land, black hood up, his face unseen… his two fangy teeth were visible from underneath the hood. “Yes...” The figure said in a ghostly tongue, it sounded un-human, then again, it sounded UN creature like as well. His eyes closed. “Time… is coming, hero…” he said again in a unknown tongue. Link didn’t realize, but he was standing there, in his dream he stood behind the man, just… looking… Link was in his Green heroes clothes, UN ripped, UN filthy, bran new. Link paid attention closely… like he was paying attention to a master…. Yes… a master… The man just stood there unmoving, the wind blowing threw his long ripped cloke, making his hood writhe in the winds. “Queen Retula had given you instructions, yes?” he said in the strange tongue. Link understood every word… And he found himself saying in the same tongue, “Yes… she showed me what was to come…” Link gasped, and clenched his eyes shut, what was happening? “Great.” Said the man, a grin forming on his face making his fangs more visible. “Don’t be discouraged, hero.” He said, “Soon, you won’t have to understand anything…. Soon, everything will be perfect. With you.” The man chuckled. Link looked all around him, yes, he was dreaming, but this wasn’t just a dream. It was another vision. “Their gone...” said the man. The vision popped into Links head, Zelda went to ashes. Midna… Gone, disappeared? Each one came in a vision…. Link getting hit with the arrow right before everything bad happened… The dead Zoras, it showed them being slaughtered. Then… Link’s eyes closed… the vision so in depth into his mind… “Yorlan?” he whispered out loud. Yorlan was smiling in his mind, at him. Her red curls flowing in the wind… her green eyes in such great shape… so calming to look at. Freckles… A sword, a bow. Link smiled…. His eyes still shut. He could hear the mans voice in his head as he continued to look at the vision, “I know, you wouldn’t want anything to happen to this girl, I can sense it. Doesn’t she look, great? Such a beautiful girl… such a gorgeous…Princess?” Link’s eyes opened…. And Yorlan was gone. He looked at the man, “Wh...What?” he said. “You know of what I mean!” said the man angrily. Link got a huge burst in his head, and he fell back, clutching his head with both hands. The man shouted, “We! Will rule! They know nothing! Nothing of war! Nothing of Peace! Not even of Love!” he shouted. Link shouted back in pain, “They do Love! They Love the kingdom enough to save it from you! To die defending it from you!” Link felt another huge burst of pain in his head, flashes of memories… dead Ilia. Dead children. Dead Zoras. Midna’s dead corpse. What?! Link continued to yell in pain… the man yelled back to him, “You! You will be my boy! My helper! Defender! You know nothing of the prophecies! Your mine.” Link felt the pain subside… but Link just laid there, his hands in his face, tears falling from his eyes… “I...” said Link in a sobbful and painful tone.. “I… know…of the…prophecies…” The man laughed, “You didn’t see when I killed Zelda? You didn’t even see when I killed Gannon! You…” said the man, turning to look at Link… Link stared up at him… the Man took off his hood, Link had more tears now… “No…not…its. Not true!” Link moaned loudly, “You’re a false image! A false Illusion!” Link looked away, sobbing… “No...” the man said. Short brown hair…. Green eyes…. Pointed ears….. Facial expressions… just like Link. “I was wrong, you are wrong.” He said with a smile, “You will soon understand… but now!” he shouted, a vision popping into Link’s head, Yorlan… Screaming, Link stabbing her himself, blood all over… “I’ll never!” Link yelled… “Yes…” said the man, glaring down at Link, “I will. And you will be my servant!” Link closed his eyes, his sight too blurry…. “N…no….” he moaned…. Then, all was dark, and the last thing Link heard, was laughing… just like his own. [/color]

“Yorlan! Yorlan! Come see! Something is wrong! Quickly!!!” Link was screaming, he realized he was being held down as he writhed violently on the bed, he couldn’t stop screaming! “What’s going on?!” shouted the men who were holding him down, others started to gather in the tent, looking down curiously at him, “What should we do?!” asked a man as Link continued to thrash violently. Link’s head hurt so bad, that he couldn’t see, he kept screaming, and he started to cough up blood because of the pain. He could only feel hands holding him down, strong arms, but he was winning. “Yorlan! Yorlan!” he heard someone yell, threw Link’s screams, “Quick!” He heard Yorlan run in, “What’s wrong with him?!” she asked, he could feel a warm smooth hand touch his sweaty head, “Oh my gosh…” Yorlan whispered. Link’s eyes started to open as he continued to shake violently more, he saw a blurry Yorlan, “Link?!” she said, “What’s wrong?!” her voice in his mind was… echoed... Like, sounds bouncing off ceilings, “This isn’t helping, quickly, get chains.” “But, we need more men to help hold him,” said a man. Link closed his eyes again, and tried to feel around for his sword, but he couldn’t even see, and his arms were being held down tighter and strongly. He didn’t like this… he felt… trapped… unsafe…. Imprisoned… caught in a web. This didn’t help him…. He felt chained being wrapped around his wrists, “NOOO!!!” He yelled out in a huge groan, “Not THAT! Aaaahhh!!!” the chains were wrapped around his wrists tightly, No! No! No! What was happening?! “Link!” he heard Yorlan say, “You’ll be ok! Calm down!” “Yoorrrlaan!” Link groaned threw muffled sobs, tears filled his blurred vision, and sweat dripped down his face. Yorlan just stared down at the violently shaking Link. “What has happened to you?” she whispered. She didn’t want to do this, but she didn’t know what else to do! This made no sense! Link felt chains wrapped around his legs and ankles tightly, No! Trapped! He can’t have him! No! Link started to scream so loud, that all the men covered their ears and the wind from outside blew so loudly and harshly, that the tent started to shake, thunder started to strike, and lightning. “LINK!” Yorlan shouted. She ran over to his side and put both of her hands on his face, and said gently, “Its ok, Link.” Link’s scream stopped immediately, but the blowing wind continued, what was making him like this? Yorlan thought as she tried to calm down the moaning and gasping boy. “Link,” Yorlan whispered, “Your all right…” she said looking into his eyes that were open, and they were grey, like someone had made them loose their color, “Oh Link, what’s happening?” Yorlan said, a tear falling down her face. “Yo...rlan…” Link gasped threw tears, “No… it…its... not-’’ Safe… Yorlan looked around the tent, “Who said…?” she said, but then looked back down at Link. He had heard it to, in their minds. And it seemed to make Link worse, “Get RID OF ME! KILL ME!” he sobbed, “Please…PLEASE! DO IT!” Yorlan was about to say something, when Knane ran inside the tent, ran to Link’s side, and looked at Yorlan, and grabbed her by the shirt, and said, “He needs silenced!” and he turned back to Link and hit him across the face. The screaming stopped. The wind stopped. “KNANE!” yelled Yorlan, “What did you do?!” Knane looked at her, “What was best for him, he will be conscious soon.” Then, he was about to leave, but he looked at her again, “It, has to happen, Yorlan. You know of that.” Yorlan just stared at him in disbelief… Knane leaved, looking at Link’s slumped body and leaving. Yorlan got on her knees, and put a hand on his, and squeezed it. “Link..” she whispered, then sighed, “What have you been threw?” then tears fell down her cheeks as she looked at the face of… a boy… a boy of many prophecies, and legends…. A boy of great talent, a boy of great suffering…. A boy of great courage. A boy whose life, was gone, all happy memories, ruined. She gently strokes his hair from his face, and smiled… she could just picture him…winning this war… He doesn’t even want to be a hero… Yorlan didn’t blame him, being a hero was a lot of work. But Link’s life was worth it. Link would have to put big decisions to the test. “I... will always be by your side Link...” she whispered, “even until It happens…”
Insane… Yeah… A world… of life… A world, of Darkness… Filled… over filled… Why must such creatures rule a place of beauty? Or, of what was beauty?
Link’s mind… just kept repeating those words in his mind…. That Knane had knocked him out… he didn’t know what was happening… he felt like, he was going Insane... and he knew he couldn’t…
Yeah… maybe, I don’t need to be a hero…? Who will need one? Hyrule was gone.. filled of dark things… no life. Heh… such lowly creatures… I am much more diligent, and smart… and powerful, with my skills… I never asked to be a hero! “STOP IT! STOP TALKING!” Shut up, you heard the master, your mind is turning to evil things, you are giving up, which is the best thing…cause, your mine! “No…no…no… I’m no ones! No ones!!!” Oh please, even if I don’t get you now, you cant trust no one. The master has many allies round you. You mustn’t trust no one… ha! “Please…let me…go…”
Link was sobbing, in his mind, and outside. Yorlan was watching him closely… sighing every now and then…. She kept hearing him say, “No… get away! Let me go!” Even though he was sleeping… She just stared at him…. “What type of world is this, Link?” she whispered, “You said it would be peaceful…” She closed her eyes as tears fell down her face. Then, she opened them, and looked at his Master Sword that stood against the tent. She stared at it… “Soon..” she said, “It will work… I promise you, Link….” She looked at Link, who slept restlessly still… and he was still sobbing….
Did you like, how they torchered you? “They didn’t! they didn’t!” Yes… they did, Yorlan didn’t even help you, she just ordered you to be chained up “No!” She thought you were an Animal! A insane boy, who couldn’t figure out which way was up. “Its not true… please…” “Its over, Link. You, are mine, and this kingdom? Soon to be yours and your masters. And this is it:” Link heard his voice more clearly in his mind, yes, his own voice, like he was talking to himself, then he saw an image, of a bunch of people, humans… “Slaves…” “My slaves…” Link just watched… Children, Men, Women… beaten, told to work faster, a few people being burned at the stake. A man who couldn’t see was pushed to the dirt, and beaten. The image disappeared. Prepare for your knew life, Link… “Yeah…” He said outloud, “My new life…” A smile turned on his face.

“Are you ready?” Those words echoed in Links mind… he was sitting on a old cot bed. Link was still re-covering some…. From the last fight, and from his mental mind. He wasn’t aware of most around him, he mostly just sat there, looking into the blank spaces…. Yorlan was in the same tent, looking at him with sad eyes. She wore her war attire, a black tunic, with armor for her arms and shins. And a long silver sword inside its sheath, clung to her hip. She looked deep into his eyes, “Link…” she whispered. Link looked up at her, his eyes still a bit bloodshot, “Are you going to be alright?” Link looked away, and nodded… he remembered waking up completely, and he had been chained down, he was sweaty, and his muscles hurt. He was still abit shaky… this war was of great importance… he new that much. Grave importance…. He closed his eyes for a moment… and sighed deeply… thinking of memorys…. Memorys of his village…. Ordon…. The children… the smell of pines…. Fires, food…. Laughter. It made a tear come to Link’s eyes as he thought of this…. Then he sighed softly, and whipped away the tears… the moment he had, when he was “asleep”, his mind wasn’t there, and he was… argueing? Yes, it had seemed…. Link couldn’t totally understand what had happened… he just new this: He had to fight in this war, and either something was keeping him from fighting, or, just encorouging him more…. He whiped his tears away, I must do this… he whispered. Yorlan looked away from him when he whispered. How could this happen to Link? He was so torn… so weak… he mustn’t fight, but he has to…. It had to happen. Link was dressed in his war tunic that the army had givin to him. Dark, like Yorlans, with a red flaiming dragon on the plates of armor. Link new this was his last fight. He stood up straight, and Knane walked in the tent, dressed in his proper fighting attire, “You ready?” he asked him. He nodded, and walked past Yorlan, without saying a word to her, but she looked worried. He walked out of the tent, and Knane looked back at Yorlan, she looked away, and Knane left her in the tent.
Link walked past the men in the camp, the men just stared… some just kept their buisnus and worked hard. He wanted to be away from them… just for a few moments…. He sat down ontop a hill… so quiet… he closed his eyes, and tears streamed down his face… “How could it come to this?” he whispered to no one…. Why? Why he? Why did he have to be the hero? He hated it now…. ‘Infact…’ he thought to himself, ‘I hope… I hope I die in this war… I hope I die killing whats made this world what it is today….’ Then he thought of Midna… that made him more sad… more tears splattered down his face, and he seemed to shake a little more… he gripped his sword… his Master Sword. All his life… he had never, ever felt like this, when about to fight in a battle. But this was a big battle, one that will make the highest in history. What made them think they’d win? Gannon (or whoever was the leader in the dark sages) would have way more men then what they have… But, its better to try, then to just let them win. Link lost everything, he didn’t need to stay alive in Hyrule… everything, was gone. Everything he loved. Link took out his sword, and rubbed the blade gently… so smooth, it had remained smooth sense its rehabilitation from Yorlan, she had polished it and re-forged it. He remembered the “fake” Rusl…. How he had been in he and Midnas travels half the days…. How Link trusted him so much… a little too much. “He was a big fake… A BIG FAKE!” he yelled and stood up… he started to sob, He got the visions… of how Rusl, and his family had been killed… it kept re-playing in his mind…. Replaying… and replaying…. Link was sobbing more and more… as he took up his Master Sword, and stabbed the ground with fury. Then, he remembered Midna… where was she? Why didn’t he get a vision of her, alive, or dead?! He didn’t want her to be dead… but, he didn’t want to die, and leave her alone. He wanted to know, of what was of her…. He smiled… as he remembered…. Their last encounters. He in wolf form, her guiding him in harsh times. Her, teleporting them away from the enemy, or to get to a location much faster than on his steed, Epona. “Link?” Link spun around, and saw Yorlan standing behind him, she saw his tears. “You ok?” she asked walking closer to him. Link gripped his sword, he didn’t trust her, no one! He trusted nobody! Yorlan saw his face enrage…. She stopped, “Link, what is it?” Link’s f ace was full of anger…. He said weakly, and painfully, “I…. d-o…don’t…trust an-y… Anybody!” Yorlan looked at him confused, “Link, I’m your friend, your helping me fight, remember?” she started walking closer to him. Link just raised his sword, “No!” he yelled, “You! Are an enemy! As…. Ah!” he paused in a bit of pain, and continued weakly… “…as for everyone…” Yorlan put her hands up a little as she got closer to him… “Link, you are not well… its ok,” Link kept his sword up. Yorlan got to the tip of his sword, and said, “Link, you must stay calm.” But she new by his face, that he was not going to obey. Link could see that she seemed more saddened then ever… a saddened look that he had seen before. Somewhere…. On someone…. Yorlan slowly and gently moved the blade away, she said ina low, soft voice, “Link… what has happened to you?” Link just shook a little, his muscles all tense. His eyes bloodshot, tears still forming. Yorlan gently rubbed the tears away from his face. He kinda recoiled from the touch. But Yorlan wasn’t freightened at all. “Its hard… isn’t it? I know it is…” she whispered. Link’s grip on the sword released more… and he dropped his sword. “You know… nothing…” he said threw gritted teeth. He noticed she had tears in her eyes…. What was wrong with him? He was acting mad for no reason…. He felt as if he might be going insaine…. Yorlan sighed, “I know its beyond words, of what you’ve been threw.” Link still looked at her, trying to figure her out… she acted as if she really did know what it was like. “We still want you to help us fight, do you have the streingh enough to do that? For us?” Link looked down at the ground…. Then, he heard her very faintly whisper, “For me?” Link looked up at her, she was looking deep into his eyes… and he felt her gently take his hand. Yorlan’s hand was warm…. His was a bit cold, sense he was ill, his sickness hasn’t fully war-off. “I don’t know… who to fight for…” Link whispered, his eyes closing as he tried to relax.Yorlan said softly, “You can fight for the people of Hyrule, that is what and who we must fight for… our kingdom. Our home… your old home, Link.” Link thought of all his friends… all his village folks… who died, for nothing…. Yorlan could feel Link tighten his fists in anger, tighten his grip on her hand a little more… but Yorlan realized, he wasn’t because he was mad…. Link looked at her, and said softly, “I’m scared… scared of what will be of my home, Hyrule… after this war. I never really worried about what would happen after a battle….never thought it’d matter.” Yorlan whiped away the rest of his tears, “You have come so far, Link. At least… fight one more war, one more gruesome bloodshed…. Do it for the ones you loved.” Link thought of the ones he had loved…. His villagers, the Mayer of Ordon, Talo, Malo, Colin… Colin’s mother, Rusl, and Rusl’s newborn, that was just born not long after the fall of Hyrule to darkness. And Ilia… it made Link smile slightly… he remembered when she would be mad at him for injuring Epona, how she loved living in the village as much as all the villagers. She’d always tell him, “Link, promise me this? Promise me you wont get yourself killed?” he remembered that, so many times she told him. And he always promised. Link’s mind wondered… he thought of Midna…. He sighed. He had no idea, what became of her… he wanted her to be safe… he hoped she was. Yorlan sighed softly, and said, “You are fighting for our kingdom’s ruler as well… Zelda. She trusted you, and gave you all her trust, and encouragement. She new you had the most bravery, any other warrior never had.” Yorlan smiled at him, revealing purly white straight teeth. “And she chose the right one.” Link tried to smile… but he couldn’t…. he didn’t want to believe that that was the reason why he was the ‘hero’. He just nodded…. “This war… is going to change, everything.” Yorlan nodded, “Yes…” she said, “It will…” And Link just looked deep into her eyes…. He felt more calm… being around her was an odd feeling… like he new her, like she new him. He wiped away the rest of her tears that had just started to fall. “It’s the start of a new beginning….” He said.
Knane was watching them…. Down back at the camp, he just sat down by the smithy workers, who were busy sharpening daggars, arrow points, and swords. He just glared….. that boy, he just doesn’t get it. Knane didn’t have to be with them, or near them to know what was happening… he could just see Link, all sobbey looking…. And Yorlan… he snarled slightly when she held his hand. Knanes dark brown eyes just continued to watch… “I told her….” He mumbled, “this war, is not going to end, nicely….” And he stood up, and walked around tents, to his own. He walked in, and put on his own armor attire, which was a tunic. He sheathed his sword, and walked back out. He walked to a different part of camp. Were he could be alone. He sat down, and just gazed out…. His mind whirling with plans… memories… everything. He could still see Link and Yorlan… he smirked.
Link looked out at the horizon…. Not as pretty as it used to be…. Now the skies were full of darkness forever…. Yorlan looked to, “Such a terrible… yet beautiful thing…” she whispered. Link just sighed, and looked back at her, she smiled. “Link, I know your troubled, but, I know, you have streingh, I know you breathe the training that you were taught from many other trained warriors. I know that you are a descendant of the heroes. And me, Yorlan, I know that you can win this, you can be the next generation of history.” Link just looked at her, with tender eyes. “History means nothing…” he said. “You will let other warriors in time, know, that a brave man, Link, suffered greatly, and faught bravely, and they will have the courage. And these men?” she motioned at the camp, “Will be witnesses of the greatest truth, ever foretold.” Link just looked at her… she seemed…. Triumphant… like she new what it felt like to be in a battle, and several others. “They… the men, the brave warriors will fight, will be known as true heros.” Said Link, “And everyone, who has suffered, their families, who have perished by Gannons rath, will be avenged by their brethren. And the days of Light will continue their days threw Hyrule’s ages.” Yorlan couldn’t help it… she threw herself at him, and hugged him. Link seemed a little taken aback…. He looked around him some… and put his arms around her as they embraced. “Link…” she whispered… “You are, a true warrior. A true legend.” Link looked out at the horizon as they embraced continuesly. He knew right then, that he will fight, he had to either way. He wanted to fight, avenge his young friends, and towns people. Everyone, Zelda even. Link put his hands on Yorlan’s shoulder, and gently pushed her away so he could look into her eyes. They both looked into eachother eyes which seemed like centeries to Link. But it was one of the best moments of his life.
It was the Eve of battle…. Link stood in the front of all the men, who wore their armor, and held their swords and weapons. Link looked out, and could see the enemy approaching closely…. They were miles away, but Link could see them like they were just a foot infront of him. Link looked at all his men. A few looked scared, others looked brave, And some looked-as Link could tell-That they were reviewing their family…. All who had perished, they were going to be avenged. Link looked at a boy, who seemed to be the age of 14, his curly brown lockes moved in the wind under his helm. He wore armor as well as the rest of the men. He didn’t look scare, not even a little. Infact, Link could tell, that he was happy to fight and kill these men. His family must have perished from Gannons forses to, like others had. Link smiled, respected the childs bravery, he had tears in his eyes, and Link looked away from the boy. He looked at Yorlan who stood a few feet away from him in front of the line. Yorlan looked over at him, and Link gave a friendly smile, and she flushed slightly, and smiled to. One of their men braught two horses to them. Link took one that they gave him, and Yorlan got a black horse. Link studied his horse… Brown…. Stallion? He looked into the horses eyes, it nayed. Link smiled, “Epona!” and he put his arms around the beasts head gently, “How did…?” he looked at the man who braught forth the horses, he smiled gleamly, “Found her outside the Zora entrance on my way to Hyrule Castle. She seemed more startled then ever not having her master, She had her supplies still on her, so, I assumed that this horses owner had perished. So I braught her here.” Link thanked the man, and saddled Epona. Link looked over at Yorlan’s steed. A black Stallion she saddled on. The dark main of the steed moving in the wind as he stood proudly. Yorlan patted her steed, and looked at Epona, and said, “Nice healthy horse, Link.” She said. Link nodded in agreement, Epona was on her own for a while, but, she still looked healthier than ever. “Goodluck.” She added to him. He looked at her, and nodded, “You too… and-’’ before Link could say anymore, he heard a loud blistering horn blow from the enemy still a bit away. Everyone held their hands to their ears as the horn blew continuesly. Even Link had to cover his ears, the sound was so loud, the 14 year old boy dropped to the ground screaming from the loud noise. Epona neighed uncontrollably. Even yorlans horse. Then the noise stopped, and everyone got a closer look at the eemy approaching. Orks….with bows and arrows. Trolls, boars…. Anything that was worth the name ‘Creature’ or ‘Beast’ in Hyrule. Just then, Links mind flashed a white light, then everything cleared. Link looked at Yorlan who was looking at him in Alarm, he saw her mouth say something… she was shouting it, and her face was filled with more alarm and worry that it scared Link. What?! Was he deaf?! Then, his brain felt like it was on fire, and he screamed, but he couldn’t hear himself. Epona neighed so violently, that she threw Link off her back. Link thudded on the ground, and shook violently, as his head felt like it could blow, his mind twirling: Zelda! ‘Bam!’ Gannon! ‘Bam!’ Ilia! ‘Bam!’ Link kept on seeing images that past in his mind so fast that he barely had time to know who they were…. Some of the villagers… too fast! The mayer! ‘Bam!’ The prince Zora! ‘Bam!’ Then everything stopped… but Everything was quiet. Then… Midna! A huge flash in his mind revealed Midna, who smiled at him lightly, and with…Gannon? Gannon stood behind her, with a huge grin, they were both… grinning? What?! “LINK!” Link’s eyes shot open, as he lay in the middle of a battle, Yorlan standing over him, scratches on her face, “Link! Get up!” Link stood up emedietly, without having time to think, Midna?! With Gannon?! It had to be a trick… His head still throbbed, but he had to ignore it, grasping the Master Sword, he swung it, and hit a oncoming boar. “Watch your back!” Link turned quickly seeing a arrow flying right at him! He twirled to make a move that would hit the flying arrow, but missed by an inch! But the arrow split as Yorlan ‘Glided’ threw the air as fast as Link has ever seen anyone! She had sliced the arrow with her sword. She landed on her feet, and twirled her sword. Link smiled, “Wow… that was-’’ he didn’t have time to finish when the loud horn blew once more. Everyone covered their ears, but the sound didn’t last as long as it had. All the evil dark creatures stopped fighting, and looked to the sky. They started chanting… chanting something…. Yorlan looked at Link, “Hes here…” Link swallowed as he gripped his sword… this was it… it had to be! The battle started back up again, but the creatures continued to yell, “Ash’egan’te! Ash’egant’te!”
